MVP Dale Leisegang Reveals the Secret to His Success
Castle Free Author
Castle Free MVP, Dale Leisegang, maximises his day by getting starting it early, and says that being a member of the 5AM is the secret to his success. We follow him to see what a day in his busy life looks like. Take notes!
Sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in a day to accomplish everything you want to achieve. This is why some of the world’s most successful people start theirs a little earlier. Our Castle Free MVP, Dale Leisegang, is one of them and knows how to get the most out of life.
Born and bred in Durban but now residing in beautiful Cape Town, Dale is a qualified civil engineer currently working as a property developer, model and entrepreneur. For as long as he can remember, living an active, healthy lifestyle has been a priority for him. But it was only after graduating from university that he officially ‘joined’ the 5 AM club. And he has seen plenty of benefits from adhering to this lifestyle.
Wake Up and Shake Up
It might not feel like it when your alarm is buzzing and it’s dark outside, but getting up early is actually good for you. It gives you the time to fit in some pre-work exercise or beat the morning rush. It also allows you to prepare yourself for the day ahead and has been shown to reduce stress and improve concentration levels.
When Dale left varsity and entered the working world he started waking up at 5 AM. He says that this not only puts him in a positive headspace but also gives him more time, allowing him to reach his (many!) goals. He claims that this has been, and continues to be, critical to his success, happiness and all-around fulfilment.
A Day in the Life
Our Castle Free MVP, and member of the 5 AM club, Dale Leisegang, rises early to maximise and get the most out of his days. After waking, he enjoys watching the sunrise with a ‘bulletproof coffee’ in hand. Then it’s time to make some moves. Daily exercise will either be a gym workout or a run followed by a dip in the refreshing Atlantic Ocean. After this, he has a short meditation session to clear his mind, prepare his work for the day and head to the office for the daily grind.
But the action doesn’t end there. After work, Dale enjoys reflecting on the day while walking on the Sea Point Promenade or watching the sunset. Cooking a healthy dinner and having a Castle Free with his girlfriend is his ideal way to end off a productive day.
The Key to Success
For Dale, success means accomplishing your goals, whether they are career, financial, relationship, health and fitness or lifestyle goals. He believes that every goal you score will stand you in good stead to accomplish your next one and that it's the little things in life that make the big things matter!
Other than starting his day while most people are still fast asleep, how else does Dale make sure that he gets as much out of life as it has to offer?
While admitting that it might sound cliché, he attributes staying present and living as crucial to his wellbeing and happiness. He says that not planning too far ahead and really living in the moment helps him to experience and appreciate every second. And who wouldn’t want more hours in a day when your life is this good?
For Dale, being part of the 5 AM club leaves him free to be active, head outdoors, be more productive and spend quality time with his friends and family. And we say cheers to that!
